The system or game of Oblivion was set-up by a group of experienced Live Role-Players and organisers who wanted to challenge other LRP enthusiasts to the extreme. They felt that though most games had elements of difficulty, none really pushed adult LRP players to their limits. Also very important to the ethos, was that every action carried out by anyone or anything "in-game" had a reaction, whether beneficial or detrimental and that these actions are always noted and never forgotten.
These two concepts remain central to the whole Oblivion ethos and are what we believe makes it stand out from other LRP systems. The world that has been created is dark and dangerous, harsh and exacting but overall fair. That said we have hopefully ensured that new people to the world have as equal a chance to survive as those who have participated before.
As it has grown over the past five years so has the infrastructure required to keep the game at the level of quality demanded by all who participate. We now believe we are in a position to invite more people to participate and to face the challenges we and they create. Hence this website has been created, which we hope you will find informative and useful.
As it is run for maximum enjoyment of all concerned, all profit made in Oblivion is used to buy more equipment, replenish existing items and to hire top quality sites. No organisers of the system take or receive any money from it; we do truly do it for the enjoyment. Either that or we are all certifiable!
All the event organisers still actively play in other events across the country and we believe this is important to ensure that we stay in touch with players and current ideas, as well as keeping up all our necessary LRP skills! If you would like to know more about us or to contact us about anything, please feel free to do so, on the "contact" link.
One thing we actively encourage from all who participate is criticism, although if it can be constructive we do appreciate it. Please feel free to contact us at any time, whether a regular participant or just a visitor to the web-site and tell us how you believe we can improve. It is the only real way we can gauge any success.
Our overall aim was to encourage more people to take part in LRP from first timers to those who run their own systems but don't get the chance to play. We believe that LRP is a fantastic hobby on so many levels, with so many good friends made throughout the years and that we must never lose sight of the "fun" that is LRP.
Thank you for your time and we look forward to seeing you in the world of Oblivion, where in the Dark they can all hear you scream.
